PHONICS INTERACTIVE MINI BOOKS ~ DIFFERENTIATION

Hello Fellow Educators!

Do you need more phonics resources?  Then look no further.....

CLICK HERE TO GET INTERACTIVE MINI BOOKS

The purpose of these interactive beginning sound books is to review and/or teach letter recognition, phonics, reading and writing sentences correctly using the focused letter of the week.

At the same time, I wanted to incorporate higher thinking skills into the books.  I’ve taught intermediate, as well as, primary grades.  When I taught primary grades, I always wanted to ensure my students mastered the skills they needed to know in order to be successful.  In addition, I wanted to introduce my students to higher skills they would need to know in upcoming grades (particularly the testing grades).  One thing I realized while teaching primary grades is that they are like sponges.  They literally soak up any and everything you say, teach, etc.  That is why I have included a page in which the students learn about “Alliteration”.  I will include “Alliteration” exercises in all of the interactive books associated with this series.  That’s right!  Your students will encounter “Alliteration” in ALL 26 books!  I figure if the students encounter this particular skill on a repetitious basis, they will soon learn and understand what it actually means, and at the same time they will learn the letter of the week.  By the time they are in testing grades, they will have mastered this skill.

I found this youtube video pertaining to the beginning sounds of letters.  This video will accompany the INTERACTIVE PHONIC BOOKS very well.
YOU CAN USE THIS .....

*  FIRST THING IN THE MORNING
*  AFTER LUNCH FOR SETTLING THE KIDS DOWN
*  AT THE END OF THE DAY FOR SETTLING THE KIDS DOWN UPON DISMISSAL

IINFERENCE TASK CARDS (PRIMARY)

Many students are not able to make inferences when reading.  This has been a constant struggle for educators ~ like myself~ and parents to teach.  I was just sitting here thinking (while it is snowing outside).......What are some ways I can contribute to minimizing this problem?  The bulk of making inferences is mostly taught in the higher levels.  I think this skill should be taught in the primary levels, as well.  This skill should not just be introduced in the primary levels, but developed extensively.  Therefore, students would have a lot of exposure to this particular skill by the time they are in the intermediate/higher grade levels.

So, I decided to create a series of inference resources for primary grade levels.  This will ensure many opportunities for primary students to encounter making inferences.  The first inference resource is called ~INFERENCE "WHO AM I?" CARDS~.  This resource is ideally for 1st and 2nd Graders.  You can also use this with Kindergartners by reading the cards a loud and have them guess the answer.  This resource can be used in centers/stations, whole-groups, guided reading groups, etc.
